At Purford Green we have are proud to involve pupils in every aspect of our school development. To support this we have pupil representatives that take part in Class and School Council meetings. These meetings are in place so that pupils have a voice and are involved in decisions about the school that affect them. Through Class meetings all pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions that involve all of their classmates in reaching a democratic solution. Wider issues that arise in Class meetings are discussed further at School Council, this ensures that as many pupil voices as possible are heard. Pupils at Purford Green know that this is their school and their thoughts and ideas matter.
· School Council representatives are nominated and then voted in by their class mates, with elections taking place each academic year.
· At School Council meeting there is a Chair and a Vice Chair, along with a secretary who takes notes and creates minutes of the meeting. Throughout the week children will jot any issues, concerns, worries or ideas etc that they wish to discuss at the class council meeting, these are shared as part of the agenda.
· We encourage the School Council to be proactive throughout the year, organising whole school fundraising events such as Children In Need and Red Nose day as well as supporting the work Friends of Purford Green.
